Spanish military cartographic viewer

Mapping used:

  • Visualization service showing military mapping performed by the Geographical Center of the Earth Army (CEGET) and the Cartographic and Photographic Center of the Air Army (CECAF). CECAF shows a layer with aeronautical information at 1:1,000,000 scale updated until November 8, 2018 and magnetic declination lines updated to 2018 according to MMW2015. The CEGET shows 5 layers: 1:1,000,000 scale military raster map with hypsometric inks, Military topographic topographic map at 1:100,000 scale edited from BTN100 with contours every 40 m (M682 series), and 3 topographic map layers at 1:50,000 scale contours every 20 m with L-series symbology (Series P713, M7814 and M7815).
    • CECAF map with 1:1,000,000 aeronautical information updated until 8 November 2018. Magnetic declination lines updated to 2018 according to MMW2015. Topographic base provided by IGN. Bathymetric information provided by the Marine Hydrographic Institute. Topographic base of Africa provided by MGCP.
    • 1:1.000,000 scale military raster map made by the Earth Army Geographic Center (CEGET). Elevation is represented by hypsometric inks
    • Topographic map military raster at 1:100,000 scale edited from the BTN100 National Topographic Base (IGN-CEGET). The altimetric representation is made with contours every 40 m. It is made according to the M682 Series specification and the C Series symbology.
    • Topographic map at 1:50,000 scale. Vector data derived from stereophotogrammetric blocks. The altimetric representation is made with contours every 20 m. It is made according to the P713 Series specification and the L-Series symbology.
    • Raster topographic map at 1:50,000 scale edited from vector data. Vector data derived from stereophotogrammetric blocks. The altimetric representation is made with contours every 20 m. It is made according to the M7814 Series specification and l-Series symbology.
    • Raster topographic map at 1:50,000 scale edited from vector data. Vector data derived from stereophotogrammetric blocks. The altimetric representation is made with contours every 20 m. It is made according to the M7815 Series specification and l-Series symbology.
  • Nautical Mapping: These services allow the visualization of geographic data included in the official nautical mapping produced by the IHM. The data used comes from the different navigational purposes of the electronic nautical charts (ENCs) produced today. For small scales purpose 2 is used and, as the scale is scaled up, the data included in the purpose ENCs 5 is maximized. The symbology used for its representation coincides with the simplified symbology of the IHO publication S52 (S57 information presentation library in the E.C.D.I.S.). S57 objects listed as standard type information have been included in publication S52, adding probes and obstructions.
    • Purpose Electronic Nautical Charts 2,3,4,5 (scales 1:500,000, 1:350,000, 1:90,000, 1:22,000, 1:4,000). This service shows nautical information derived from the production flow of official electronic nautical mapping between the scales 1:350.000 and 1:500,000 (purpose 2 of navigation), therefore, the information shown bears great similarity to that of the ENC. This should not confuse the user so that it can interpret the information displayed as likely to be used for any browsing-related activity, as it would seriously compromise its security. The official nautical mapping is updated weekly by the "Weekly Group of Warnings to Sailors" which informs the navigator of the updates that must be made in the official nautical cartography to include all any new dangers that may have Emerged. In addition, for those most urgent dangers of notifying, Salvamento Marítimo (SASEMAR), employs the system of coastal radio warnings that keep the navigator continuously informed. Conversely, the pace of updating this service is much lower, and in no case offers security for navigation. On the part of the IHM, any liability in the use, for nautical purposes, of the information provided herein is declined. This service contains information from ENC PT221101, provided by the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute.
    • Catalogue of Electronic Nautical Charts (ENC Scheme) allows the display of the frames of all ENCs that appear in the Nautical Chart Catalogue. They are grouped according to the purpose of navigation in: DE ARRUMBAMIENTO (2), COSTERAS (3), APROCHES (4), PORTULANOS (5)
    • Paper Nautical Mapping Scheme allows the display of the frames of all Nautical Paper Charts that appear in the Nautical Chart Catalogue. They are grouped, depending on the scale and for a purpose of navigation, in: GENERAL, ARRUMBATION, COSTERAS, APROCHES, PORTULANOS and SPORTS.
    • Books of Lights. This service facilitates, for all interested users, access to visualization of maritime signalling data in the publications 'Faros and Maritime Signals, Parts I and II'. In no way does this application replace the aforementioned publications, and therefore navigators are not exempt from continuing to take them on board, as well as the rest of the nautical publications, duly updated.
    • Maritime Limits allows the visualization of straight baselines (LBR), currently in force (RD 2510/1977 of 5 August), and on the other hand only the official maritime limits of the territorial sea, adjoining area, continental shelf and exclusive economic zone published in the Official Gazette of the State (BOE).
    • Costa line at 1:50000 scale compiled from electronic nautical mapping. This service allows the visualization of the outline of the Spanish coastline, included in the official nautical mapping. For this product, the information, at the best resolution available, of the Electronic Nautical Charts of Purposes 4 and 5 has been used.
    • Exercise Zones - Letter OF. This service allows the visualization of the "Military Exercise Zones" that affect the Spanish coast and that are included in the PAPER letter OF. Includes air, amphibian, surface and submarine areas
